BFEG Africa Fashion Show is part of the 2022 Black History Event to Celebrate the the Artistic and unique contemporary designs and colours with it emblematic characteristics of African fashion - known for being anything but Bold. Historically, prints have always been the focus. These are rooted in tradition, harnessing original, native techniques in their curation, using local artisans.

Afrocentric fashion is a fusion of African dissonance into clothing apparel, showcasing prominent aspects of culture and values. It's an expression of oneself and being with innovative African fashion; by piecing elements of ancient Africa together to form a cloth.

In African culture, colours inherently have a symbolic nature in a variety of areas, including when rich and vibrant colours are used in African fabrics and African clothing. Colours can represent a variety of emotions, traditions and victories in the wake of struggles

The kaftan is the most popular attire for women of African descent throughout the African diaspora. African and African-American women wear a wide variety of dresses, and skirt sets made out of formal fabrics as formal wear. However, the kaftan and wrapper are the two traditional choices.

The traditional clothing includes Kitenge, Lace, Leso, Gele, Iro, Isiagu, Kanzu and Kalasiris. The most popular African clothing for men includes: Kente: Kente is the most popular and the most celebrated of all African clothing styles.

BFEG Fashion show will have collection of designed, accessories , wool & Art design from local designers, celebrating their creativity contribution to Royal Borough of Greenwich and UK at Large.
